Year R held their mini -Olympics on Monday 17th and Tuesday 18th July 2017.  The teams were split into countries, Hedgehog snails group represented USA, Squirrels snails group represented India, Hedgehogs spiders group represented Spain, Squirrels spiders group represented Australia, Hedgehogs ladybirds group represented China and Squirrels ladybirds group represented Brazil.  The children took part in many events including hurdles, javelin, hobby horse riding, cycling, marathon and relay.   The following children received a medal for the events listed below:

Marathon – Gold – Jonah, Silver – Christopher, Bronze – Luca

Hurdles – Gold – Jonathan, Silver – Christopher/ Liberty, Bronze – Ruby

Javelin – Gold – Archie, Silver – Oliver G, Bronze – Oliver W

Hobby Horse Riding – Gold – Ruby, Silver – Bonnie, Bronze – Elodie

Cycling – Gold – Josh, Silver – William, Bronze – Ollie

Relay – Gold – Spain with 2 minutes 10 seconds, Silver – China with 2 minutes 11 seconds, Bronze –  Brazil with 2 minutes 16 seconds

Best overall effort went to Jessica in Squirrels and Ava D in Hedgehogs and best sportsmanship was Thomas and Val.
