Year 2 had a fun learning time in the forest. We followed the route to the forest using an aerial photograph of our school. We used our mapping skills to find things that were hidden in the forest. We gave our partners instructions to follow and tried to use the compass directions to help us. In
Dad’s club was held on Sunday 10th February, at this session Dad’s/Grandad’s and children made their own pizza’s. We had a great turnout and lots of pizzas were made. On Thursday 31st January a team of 12 Year 2 pupils attended the Spikeball Festival held at Elson Infant School. The festival had 12 teams competing from 6 local Gosport schools. Year 2 this term have been learning how to improve their instructional writing by using adverbs and commands. This was based on the story ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ and children created instructions on how to make sweets. During the Autumn term, Year 2 have learnt how to play various rhythms on the African drums. We also learnt about dynamics and played both loudly and softly. We enjoyed our parents coming to watch and listen to our concert.
