After our joint fundraising with the Gomer Junior School, the defibrillator was installed this week for the use of the school and local community. Thank you to Mr Ashton a parent of the school who kindly installed the defibrillator cabinet for free. The school and governors would also like to give a huge thank you to the PoGo’s volunteers that helped organise the joint fundraising emergency services day, the families that contributed to the defibrillator, the emergency services that gave up their time to visit both schools on the emergency services day, express signs for the donation of a AED sign for the community, donations from Waitrose & Gosport and Fareham National Union of Teachers (NUT) and also Ms White from South Central Ambulance Service who is a parent at the school for providing defibrillator training to parents and staff over the following months.
The first FREE workshop will be taking place on Friday 21st July at 12.00 – 2.00pm in The Globe. This workshop is for parent/carers from Gomer Infant and Junior School and is on a first come, first serve basis. We will be holding further training in the autumn term including an evening workshop. If you would like to attend please complete the reply slip on the letter located under the letters tab of the website and return by Friday 14th July 2017. Defibrillators are very simple to use and it is not necessary to have training on these devices in order to operate them. However, in order to give people the confidence to use a defibrillator and know what to do in an emergency, Ms White is offering a workshop for parents.
