We have had a fantastic time today celebrating the Platinum Jubilee with Gomer Junior school. The children played traditional games, had a picnic lunch and enjoyed a crown parade (with some special Royal guest appearances!). The day finished with a community cream tea event too, it was lovely to see families enjoying their cream teas sat together in the sunshine! A huge thank you to everyone who helped to organise today, in particular the PTA’s of both schools for their ongoing support and organisation and for buying all children a gift to commemorate this special day.
Jubilee Fact….
As part of the Queen’s Jubilee, a service of thanksgiving for our Queen will be held at St Paul’s Cathedral. Great Paul is the largest church bell in the country and will be rung for the service. It was made in 1882 but stopped working in the 1970s. The thanksgiving service will be the first time since then, that it will ring for a Royal occasion.
We hope our families enjoy half term and the Jubilee celebrations over this bank holiday weekend.
