From Monday 20th March 2017 until Friday 31st March 2017, our school has been taking part in The Big Pedal 2017.  The Big Pedal is UK’s largest inter-school cycling and scooting challenge that inspires pupils, staff and parents to choose two wheels for their journey to school.  Schools all over the country are competing to see who can record the greatest number of pupils, staff and parents cycling or scooting to school. Our best 5 days will determine our final position in the challenge. We are competing against other schools right across the UK, and if we clock up the most bike and scooter journeys we’ll win! If over 15% of pupils take part each day, we will be entered into draws for prizes like bike stunt shows and school BMX or mountain bikes.

Since Monday 20th March, our children, parents and staff have been scooting or cycling to school.  Each morning members of staff are at the school gates counting the number of bicycles and scooters coming into school, be sure to let the member of school staff at the gates know that you have cycled or scooted that day.

On Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays of the Big Pedal, you can choose to meet a member of staff at the north gate of Stanley Park on Western Way where we will cycle, scoot or walk en masse to school at 08:35. Children must be accompanied by adults for this journey.

Thank you to everyone that has taken part so far.
