Progression of Skills and Knowledge – Geography

At Gomer Infant School, we believe Geography should create a sense of wonder and awe about the world. We want children to be able to locate places, understand how places and landscapes are formed and discuss how people and their environment interact. We want learning to build on children’s own experiences and use an enquiry approach so that they become true ‘geographers’.  Geographical enquiry is at the heart of all of our units of work. We encourage questioning, develop deeper thinking and grow children’s ability to reason about the world in which they live.  We examine issues affecting the world and people’s lives, now and in the future. Geography inspires pupils to become global citizens by exploring their own place in the world, their values and their responsibilities to other people, to the environment and to the sustainability of the planet.

We make Geography learning practical, engaging and irresistible!
