Multi skills sports festival – Thursday 16th November 2017
12 children from year’s 1 and 2 were selected for the multi skills sports festival held at Alverstoke Infant School on Thursday 16th November after school. The children really enjoyed the sports festival, and tried their best in all activities. We had a Just Dance warm up followed by 5 different activities, involving: jumping, balancing, and throwing bean bags into a coloured hoop. Our team came joint 2nd with 2 other schools out of 4. All the children were supportive of each other and showed perseverance like Segar! Well done to our team! Thank you to Miss King for organising the festival, the staff that participated and parents that transported the children to the event.
On Tuesday 16th May, a selection of Year 2 pupils made the short journey to Lee on Solent Infant School to participate in the annual ‘Just do it’ Sports Festival. There were a range of challenges that tested different skills and team support was essential throughout! We are awaiting the verdict from Miss King as to which team she judged to give their best on every single activity – fingers crossed! Well done to the Year 2 children for their hard work.
Gym Festival – Thursday 16th March 2017
Gomer Infant School hosted a gym festival on Thursday 16th March after school. A few children from Year 2 participated in the festival competing against other infant schools in the area. Gomer Infant School came second in the festival and received best performance for vaulting and best boy overall was Harry in Year 2!
