Gomer Infant School now have a Facebook page.  We thought that this would be an additional way to share, communicate and stay in touch with you.

We hope that you and your families are keeping well, both physically and emotionally, at this really difficult time.

Staff at Gomer & Elson have been amazing: volunteering to come to work despite the guidance that it is safer to self-isolate at home.  We have a staff volunteer rota running with a priority to provide emergency childcare for the children of those whose jobs are critical to the COVID-19 response and have absolutely no other option.

Yesterday, some members of our staff volunteered to deliver food hampers to some of our families who qualified.  These included essential items such as bread, cheese, potatoes, pasta and eggs and were gratefully received by our families from both schools.  We would like to thank our site teams (Mr Spike) and our kitchen team in working together to make this happen.

We are working incredibly hard to support the children in learning at home and are starting to set up more opportunities for children to share their learning.

We are now also going to start communicating with you via our new Facebook page.  We will be doing weekly news update and regularly posting photos and video clips of our staff reading stories to enable us to keep in touch with you at home.  Head over to Facebook for the first story, which will be read by Mrs Marshall, later this week!

The support of our community has been so important for the morale of our staff and please keep sending the positive messages they mean a lot!

Stay safe.

Mrs Marshall, Mrs Lloyd and Mrs Aspland
